The Investment Sub-Committee has delegated responsibility for the management of the charity’s investment portfolio. The Investment Sub-committee, chaired by Mr Philip Griffiths (also our Company Secretary), meets quarterly to review the performance of the fund, consider global economic conditions, and to consider changes in individual holdings.
The Investment Sub-committee takes advice from Blankstone Sington Limited, who also have discretionary management over part of the portfolio. The charity aims to achieve a balance between a steady income and capital growth from its investments.
Philip was appointed as Honorary Treasurer and as Trustee in 1998 and becoming Company Secretary in 2012. Philip has responsibility for all aspects of the charity’s finances, has assisted with staff recruitment and changes to the constitution, and is also a member of the Investment Sub-committee.
Philip is a partner in Mitchell Charlesworth, Chartered Accountants and spends a good deal of his professional time working with charities and other not-for-profit organisations on accounting, tax and governance matters. He holds the Diploma in Charity Accounting issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
